Opening on 4 June, the National Gallery of Victoria’s (NGV) exhibition Kimono features hundreds of garments, paintings and posters. It includes historic garments from the Edo period, right through to works by contemporary Japanese and western designers such as Issey Miyake and Alexander McQueen
